Colon Cancer Testing ?C How Colon Cancer Testing Saves Lifes?

Author: Berger
Colon cancer testing saves lives each and every year. But did you know that half of those that currently die from the disease could be saved if only they have a routine test?

Colorectal cancer is responsible for 60,000 deaths in the U.S. alone each year. But colon cancer testing can change all of that. In fact, there are many different kinds of tests (some more invasive than others) that can detect cancer before it even starts!

Colorectal cancer starts as a polyp. This polyp is harmless and non-cancerous. Yet, eventually, this growth could turn into cancer. The beauty of colon cancer testing is that it can detect these polyps before they turn into cancer. They can then be removed and you can go on living your life without ever having to deal with cancer.

Cancers of the gastrointestinal tract such as rectal cancer and bowel cancer can be treated if caught early enough. The major problem is that people tend to put off preventative exams. Even worse, a lot of insurance companies don't cover such tests!

However, Medicare is now covering preventative colon cancer testing for those who have an 'average risk' meaning they have a family history or underlying condition that may make them more prone to developing colorectal cancer.

The bottom line is that colon cancer testing could save your life. If you are over the age of 50, get colon cancer testing done today. Even if you're younger, you may need to have some testing done. It really depends on your family history of the disease and your own predisposition.

Half of colon cancer deaths could be stopped today if everyone over 50 was screened. Make colon cancer testing a part of your life.
